Is the entry fee £15 per artist or per work?
The entry fee is £15 for the first work and £5 for additional works. Artists may only enter once, with a maximum of 6 images.
Price and currency will vary depending on country.

I am a student, do I need to pay?
Yes, the entry fee is payable by all artists.

Is there a maximum or minimum size limit for works to be submitted?
There is no minimum size limit, but the maximum size of work, in its largest dimension including frame, is 182cms.

I would like to put forward a piece of work that was created over 3 years ago, would this be acceptable?
No, only works produced within the last 3 years are acceptable.

I do not have digital images of my work, what should I do?
We are trying to encourage all applicants to enter online in order to reduce our paper usage and speed up the application process. What resolution should my images be?
Ideally all images should be 300dpi but with a maximum file size of 4MB and between 1000 x 3000 pixels resolution; min 1000 x 1000 and max. 3000 x 3000 pixels. Only JPEG file formats are acceptable.  Each image file must be named with your surname, first name and brief title e.g. SmithJohn_Title.jpeg. Whilst work titles may be too long to be used as image names, a section of your title would be adequate.

I cannot upload my images, what should I do?
Check that each of your image files is between 1000 x 3000 pixels; min 1000 x 1000 and max. 3000 x 3000 pixels., 4MB or less and that it is a JPEG file format.  If you still encounter problems, please contact us using the form on the contact us page, e-mail derwent@parkerharris.co.uk or call + 44 (0) 1372 462190.

I don't have a PayPal account does this matter?
No, you do not need to have a registered PayPal account in order to enter online. Once you are linked through to the PayPal payment page, you will be asked to input your credit card details on the secure PayPal website. Those with PayPal accounts are given the option to sign in if they wish.

I want to pay by cheque or cash.
Cheque or cash payments are not acceptable as we are trying to encourage all applicants to enter and pay online. When will I hear if I have been shortlisted?
All artists will be notified by 11 July 2014 if they have been selected for exhibition. If you do not hear then contact us using the form on the contact us page.

When must my work be available until?
All work accepted for exhibition must be available from 1st September 2014 to 31st January 2015.

Does the work need to be framed?
No, work does not have to be framed.  If your work is selected you will be contacted by Parker Harris, official organisers of the Derwent Art Prize, to discuss how your work should be displayed.

Is any pencil type admissible?
Yes, you can use any pencil including water-soluble, pastel, graphite, charcoal or colouring pencils on any 2 or 3 dimensional support.
